As the daughter of a pastor and Gospel singer, Jesse grew up with three passions: Jesus, people, and music. She fell in love with songwriting when she wrote her very first song with her dad at the age of 11. "I knew from the moment it was completed that songwriting was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life," says Jesse. 

Jesse faced a lot of challenges growing up, including a diagnosis of Auditory Processing Disorder, making it difficult for her to hear and take in verbal communication. This caused her a lot of anxiety and mental health struggles. But in the midst of that diagnosis, she continued writing songs at the piano throughout high school and college, including hit singles "Tuning Into You" and "Be Still." 
 

Jesse heard God’s call on her life to go into ministry as a musician at the age of 14 at a Christian concert in 2011. He affirmed that call when she made the decision to go to Bible college in Sussex, new Brunswick. As she worked on developing her voice and craft, she felt that God wanted to use her voice and story to communicate His love and truth to those who did not know it. It was in this same season that she learned about the tragedy of human trafficking in North America. She writes: "I knew that I wanted to raise awareness about this issue through my music." In 2020, she wrote a song about a victim of sex trafficking and performed the song at an anti-trafficking seminar at her home church. “Not For Sale” became her debut single, released on April 1st, 2022. launching her career and ministry as an artist.

Now in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Jesse's favorite venues to perform in are homeless shelters and outreach centers, fundraiser events for other ministries, and prison chapels. "My vision as an artist is to sing God's song of love and freedom over people, inside and outside the church walls. My goal in every song I write is to tell people that they are loved, worth the price Jesus paid, and chosen to do great things."

Her inspiration for this is found in Zephaniah 3:17, 

  “The Lord your God is with you,
   the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
  in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
 but will rejoice over you with singing.”
